Arena first started investing into developing a skilled workforce for the future in 2005.
The modern apprenticeship scheme continues to run and has been a resounding success with apprentices enjoying specialist training prior to moving into full time roles within the company. The scheme now known as "The Arena School of Excellence" offers tiling apprenticeships that are designed to provide learners with the skills and knowledge they need to become confident, capable and professional tillers. They receive an industry recognized qualification to evidence their new skills, ensuring that they will quickly become useful members of the Arena team. The course teaches learners to properly prepare surfaces for tiling, whether its floor or wall tiling before moving onto the installation of tiles. Also it teaches how to adhere to workplace health and safety regulations and accepted good practice. Most of the training is delivered at our school of excellence as well as on site in a work based environment, helping the learners to become confident and experienced in their job. There are some classroom sessions to check understanding and instill the essentials. In addition all of the apprentices are taken through the CSCS qualification, to ensure they are ready for the working site upon course completion.
The course is run by our trainer who has over 40 years' experience in the tiling industry, working up through the ranks as a tiler, to contract manager roles. In more recent years he has been the trainer responsible for rolling out the wall and floor tiling NVQ level 1 and 2 qualification for local based construction colleges.
We have named our apprenticeship scheme "The Arena School Of Excellence" as we are creating the most capable tiling improvers to begin their journey as a fully-fledged employed tile fixer, with one of the market leading Tiling Contractors in the UK. If you would be interested in a challenging but rewarding career as an Arena Tiler and meet the requirements below than please contact the Arena team.
